Durango Kid #3 - Frank Frazetta art

Durango Kid #3, 1949 - The first panel of Dan Brand and Tipi, standing against the void and peering out, is quintessentially heroic. Conveniently, the same pose reappears on the story's final panel. While portions of the visual storytelling lack clarity, Frank Frazetta's powerful drawings continue to raise artistic standards. The detailed river rapids on the bottom of page 5 (click on inset above), the convincing anatomy of the indians, and the meticulous foliage throughout is stunning. The level of detail clearly shows an artist's love of the adventure genre. This is one of four Frazetta / Dan Brand tales nicely reprinted in White Indian #11. This is number 3 of 16 Durango Kid issues with Frazetta art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Frazetta or Durango Kid issues.
