House of Mystery #250 - Alex Nino art

House of Mystery #250, 1977 - A ambitious immigrant marries a woman who uses witchcraft to further his career. Alex Nino's opening splash is a rarity among his bronze age works, and is beautifully done here. Barren trees provide shade for a funeral procession while the main characters look on from a distance. The artist's six panel grid on almost every page could have been monotonous, but Nino varies the scenes enough to keep it interesting. The final panel of another funeral is nearly as well illustrated as the first. This is number 8 of 14 House of Mystery issues with Nino art and/or covers.
